The aim of the project is to provide the basis upon which to create a source of income for 100 vulnerable widows in the Khabat District.
Our objective is empowerment hoping to facilitate that the widows will be better qualified to enter the job market, get jobs in better work places to improve the economic situation of these vulnerable women. This improvement will also benefit the children and families of the widows and hopefully help them become more active and powerful participants in the society.
First WEO provided the widows with training courses in handicrafts and literacy. The second step of the project was a training for the widows on how to start their own small business. Additionally WEO offered vocational training to the widows on sewing and hair dressing for those who were interested in these types of jobs. The end goal is to provide them with grants to enable them to use their newly acquired skills to create their own small business and achieve stable economic revenue for themselves and their families.
